Ahead of Lionsgate's Comic-Con panel for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, the studio has released a new teaser and a fantastic new poster for the film. The motion poster teaser features a massive statue of the fan-favorite salute, atop which the series protagonist defiantly stands. For my money, the static poster is the more striking of the two, portraying Katniss in blood-red attire sitting on an ivory throne. Quite the statement piece, for sure.

Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and other cast members, as well as director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson will be on hand at Comic-Con on Thursday. Whether or not you're in attendance, we'll have full coverage of the panel along with any and all new material that's made available. For now, check out the newly released posters below.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2:

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
