Lionsgate has released two more images from The Hunger Games. As you can see above, one is another image of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) rocking a bow and arrow and the other is Josh Hutcherson doing his best job of convincing us all that he was miscast as Peeta. I’m not exactly sure what image would best convey Peeta’s attitude. Perhaps a shot of him being interviewed by Caesar Flickermam (Stanley Tucci)? But who knows if that part of the book even made it into the movie, and that raises another point: I’ve been saying that The Hunger Games is the anti-Twilight. However, it’s possible that it’s been adapted to appeal more to a love-triangle aspect, which would be disappointing. Katniss isn’t a character whose existence is defined by what hot guy is madly in love with her. I don’t want to see a Bella Swan who knows archery.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games:
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
