Though the film was initially set for release this past February, we have yet to see an official image from writer/director Stuart Beattie’s graphic novel adaptation I, Frankenstein.  That changes today, though, as our first good look at Aaron Eckhart as the titular monster has landed online, showing a rather buff take on the creation.  The story finds Eckhart’s character living in the present day, as he is being hunted by demons that want to learn the secret of his creation.  We really don’t know much about the film at all, but I expect we’ll see the first trailer drop next weekend during the film’s Comic-Con panel.

Hit the jump to take a look at the image.  The film also stars Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy, Socratis Otto, Miranda Otto, and Jai CourtneyI, Frankenstein opens in 3D on January 24th.

Why oh why, does Jai Courtney keep getting roles?

I’ll give him one more chance, but after Die Hard and Son – thin ice with this guy

Well Die Hard 4 made even Bruce Willis look bad. That’s some epic charisma cancelling power. Can’t judge the guy on that.

    • Jeremy Flores

I thought he was solid in Jack Reacher.

      • Bob

He was also good in Spartacus.

      • Donald

He was solid because he stood around looking menacing without saying a whole hell of a lot.

  • Don Vito

“as the titular monster” Really? REALLY?

VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN CREATED THE MONSTER! FRANKENSTEIN CREATED THE MONSTER! THIS IS ONE OF THE ONLY THINGS THAT MAKE ME RAGE!

Lol thank you for noting that. To be fair, bride of Frankenstein is a highly misleading title, it pretty much had no hope of being recognized correctly after that.

At least they went for the classic “sexy Frankenstein” Karloff masters.. Or wait….?

If you look up the source material (the graphic novel inspired by the original story) they acknowledge that Frankenstein is the doctor that created the monster & that this version of the monster has taken on his name.

Although I totally get your rage. It’s a very frequent mistake.

I’ve always thought eckhart would have made the perfect captain america. Chris evans playa him as too much of a boyscout and he’s too young. I find it hard to believe that the other avengers would actually let him boss the around. This guy would be a classic square jawed superhero and he could command authority
