Lionsgate has released a new image from the action flick, I, Frankenstein.  Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the story takes place in the present day and finds Frankenstein’s creature, Adam (Aaron Eckhart), being hunted by demons that want to learn the secret of his creation.  In the image, we see Adam wielding two blades, which are really the only things that are missing from Mary Shelley’s classic novel.  All classic monsters could use hand-blade-thingies (seriously, what’s the name for that kind of weapon?  Hand-axes?  Razor knuckles?)

Hit the jump to see the image, and check back on Friday for the first trailer.  The film also stars Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy, Socratis Otto, Miranda Otto, and Jai CourtneyI, Frankenstein opens in 3D on January 24th.

Via Machinima.

This thing has Van Helsing written all over it

It’s by the producers of Underworld, so nothing remotely similar to Van Shitesing. Admittedly the last Underworld was terrible, but this doesn’t look too shabby.

I’m a firm believer that Underworld (sans the first one) is the most overrated franchise ever.

While I must agree they are overrated, I’d have to say that I haven’t disliked any of them except the most recent film.

But, none of them have a consensus of good ratings. Not even the first one.

So what if it was made by the producers of Underworld? That can’t make it can’t look like shit/something else.

I try to never judge a film this early on. But this image.. And really the whole plot summary as me wondering why on earth aaron would do this after so many great career choices. This looks like it has the production value of a blockbuster in 2002. And nothing is moving. It can only look worse on motion!

What, like Battle: Los Angeles, Olympus Has Fallen, The Wickerman, and The Core?

FYI, when you reply to someone there’s no point of pasting their comment, it’s right above you. I’m thinking roles like thank you for smoking, towelhead the dark knight and I liked him in the rum diary. Battle LA probably looked like a good idea on paper. It had a lot of hype and it was a poor let down. You have to try to put yourself in their shoes. Batte LA came out after district 9 seemingly saved science fiction movies. Olympus has fallen came out battling White House down and ended up being the weaker film. I wouldn’t call that a bad choice really though. He’s a terrific actor.

In all reality, Olympus has Fallen was the better film since it made more than White House Down. Sure the take it was a lot more for WHD but it had a higher budget and thus made less.

Olympus Has Fallen wasn’t bad at all.

Is it just me, or are the all the photos and posters for this film, official and unofficial, look very blurry and blocky?

I for one am looking forward for this movie. Granted, this is just a popcorn flick but still will watch and is on 3D.

Sweet. Aaron Eckhart has endless gravitas and charisma. But this movie looks like crap.
