The first set photo of Aaron Eckhart in I, Frankentein has leaked online.  The adaptation of the graphic novel has Eckhart playing “Adam Frankenstein”, the classic monster of Mary Shelley‘s novel who now has a first name, lives in the present day, and is being hunted by demons that want to learn the secret of his creation in order to build an army of reanimated corpses.  As you can see from the set photo, Adam has decided to go hobo-sheik and handsome-deformed.  Sure, he’s got a bit of a stitch-face, but that’s no obstacle for the good looks of Aaron Eckhart.

Hit the jump to check out the set photo.  The film also stars Bill Nighy as the villain, Socratis Otto (Gone) as his right-hand man, Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) as “a devoted scientist tricked into working for demons,” and Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings) as “the queen of the gargoyles who aims to help Frankenstein.”  I, Frankenstein is slated to open on February 22, 2013.

  1. you realize that in the original he was called Frakensteins monster after his creator Dr. Frakenstein, his name wasnt Frakenstein so giving him a first name is a little weird it would be Adam Frakensteins’ monster

      • It makes sense that the monster would give himself a name if he outlived his creator. He is not going to walk around calling himself “The Monster.” He also considered Dr. Victor Frankenstein to be his father, so taking his surname makes sense as well.

  2. “hobo-sheik”? A hobo patriarch? It’s “chic”. If you’re going to write, you need to master those homonyms.
