Fresh off last week’s trailer debut, Lionsgate has released a new image from director Stuart Beattie’s action pic I, Frankenstein. The film revolves around Victor Frankenstein’s creation, Adam Frankenstein (Aaron Eckhart), having to fight an army of demons in order to protect mankind. The first trailer showcased a deluge of CG baddies for Eckhart’s character to combat, but this new image confirms that there will indeed be some practical effects in the pic. The photo is that of a demon, and belongs to a character named Dekar, played by Kevin Grevioux. The film’s trailer and release date don’t exactly bode well for the quality of the finished feature, but perhaps Beattie has cooked up a fun genre entry. Just as long as they don’t start calling the monster “Frankenstein.”
Hit the jump to check out the new image. The film also stars Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy, Socratis Otto, Miranda Otto, and Jai Courtney. I, Frankenstein opens in 3D on January 24th.
