Broad Green Pictures has released a new trailer for I Smile Back. Director Adam Salky's character drama starring Sarah Silverman as Laney, a woman on a downward spiral. Laney has the perfect suburban life -- a doting husband, a beautiful house, and children she loves, but finds herself on-edge, drawn to reckless behavior. When she stops taking her meds, replacing them with alcohol and illicit affairs, Laney risks losing it all and makes one last attempt at redemption. Silverman, who's known for her comedic skills, has received glowing reviews for her fearless performance in the film (including acclaim from our own Phil Brown, which you can read here).

I Smile Back also stars Josh Charles, Thomas Sadoski, Mia Barron, Terry Kinney, and Chris Sarandon. The film debuted at Sundance and screens at Toronto International Film Festival this week before arriving in theaters October 23rd. Watch the trailer below.

Here's the official I Smile Back synopsis:

I Smile Back explores the life of Laney (Sarah Silverman), an attractive, intelligent suburban wife and devoted mother of two adorable children. She has the perfect husband (Josh Charles), a pristine house, and a shiny SUV for carting the children to their next activity. However, just beneath the façade lie depression and disillusionment that send her careening into a secret world of reckless compulsion. Only very real danger will force her to face the painful root of her destructiveness and its crumbling effect on those she loves.
