Opening this weekend is director Tim Story’s comedy Ride Along. The film stars Kevin Hart as a fast-talking aspiring police officer who must team up with his girlfriend’s (Tika Sumpter) brother, a hot-tempered cop (Ice Cube), to prove that he’s worthy of being her husband. As you can see in the trailers, what ensues are a series of wild adventures that lead them straight to the most notorious criminal in the city.
At the recent Los Angeles press day, I landed an exclusive video interview with Cube and Hart. They talked about how the project came together, what they learned about one another while making the film, and Cube talked about how you sometimes have to worry about working with comedians but that wasn’t the case working with Kevin Hart. Hit the jump to watch.
