Hit the jump for more.

malin-akerman-the-ticketFirst up, we’ve got Deadline reporting that Akerman just joined Stevens in the indie drama, The Ticket.  Apparently this one centers on a blind man played by Stevens who gets his vision back, but then is “blinded” by an “obsession with the superficial.”  Akerman’s on board to play Stevens’ wife whom he leaves after getting his sight back.  Filming on this one is currently underway in upstate New York.

Simpkins just locked his Jurassic World follow-up, the psychological drama, Meadowland.  That one marks director of photography Reed Morano’s feature directorial debut and will star Olivia Wilde and Luke Wilson as a couple trying to deal with the disappearance of their son.  Simpkins is set to play a special-needs child named Adam who has a tendency to get into trouble at the school where Wilde’s character works.  Elizabeth Moss is also part of the project, but in an unspecified role.

Lastly, also according to Deadline, the UK indie One Square Mile is currently in production with Elba and Arterton leading the cast.  Elba’s actually been attached to the project for a while now, first signing on as a producer in June 2013, but since, the movie has swapped titles (One Square Mile instead of A Hundred Streets), locked a new director (Jim O’Hanlon instead of Michael Caton-Jones), and now is finally ready to begin principal photography.

The film will focus on four people in the middle of completely different situations that all live within the same square mile of London.  Elba’s character is a former rugby star and Arterton will play his estranged wife.  Adam Bakri is also set to play a wealthy playboy who’s existence is rattled when an ex comes back into his life while Attack the Block’s Franz Drameh will take the role of a small time drug dealer who winds up befriending an older actor.
