R.J. Cutler’s adaptation of Gayle Forman’s If I Stay is getting closer to that August 22nd theatrical debut, so Warner Bros. just released a slew of high-resolution stills and behind-the-scenes shots from the film. The movie stars Chloe Moretz as Mia Hall, a talented musician whose hopes and dreams are decimated by a terrible accident. I haven’t read the book, but based on the film’s promo materials, this one looks to be a serious tearjerker, possibly on par with Josh Boone’s The Fault in Our Stars.
You can check out eight clips from If I Stay right here, and hit the jump to take a look at those images covering the happier times in Mia’s life and a bunch that clearly come from the post-accident portion of the film as well. If I Stay also stars Jamie Blackley, Mireille Enos, Liana Liberato, Joshua Leonard and Stacy Keach.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Mia Hall (Chloë Grace Moretz) thought the hardest decision she would ever face would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at Juilliard or follow a different path to be with the love of her life, Adam (Jamie Blackley). But what should have been a carefree family drive changes everything in an instant, and now her own life hangs in the balance. Caught between life and death for one revealing day, Mia has only one decision left, which will not only decide her future but her ultimate fate. “If I Stay” is based on the best-selling novel of the same name.
