A new trailer for director Tarsem Singh’s (The Fall) epic Immortals has been released. This one’s a bit more action-heavy than the first trailer that was released. The film looks decidedly 300-esque, but I’m hoping Singh brings something more to the table than slow motion fight scenes. He’s definitely proven his penchant for breathtaking visuals, and it’s a safe bet that Immortals will be no exception.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. Immortals stars Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, John Hurt, and Mickey Rourke. [Update: We have updated the article with a higher-quality version of the trailer.]

Here’s the official synopsis for Immortals:
Visionary director Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall) and producers Gianni Nunnari (300), Mark Canton (300) and Ryan Kavanaugh (The Fighter) unleash an epic tale of treachery, vengeance and destiny in Immortals, a stylish and spectacular 3-D adventure. As a power-mad king razes ancient Greece in search of a legendary weapon, a heroic young villager rises up against him in a thrilling quest as timeless as it is powerful. The brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his murderous Heraklion army are rampaging across Greece in search of the long lost Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, the king will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. With ruthless efficiency, Hyperion and his legions destroy everything in their wake, and it seems nothing will stop the evil king’s mission. As village after village is obliterated, a stonemason named Theseus (Henry Cavill) vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of Hyperion’s raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Freida Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man’s future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.

It’s interesting that I have yet to see anyone mention the one obvious rip that the director did of the Chinese movie “House Of Flying Daggers”.
The shot I am talking about is in both Immortals trailers and if anyone saw “House Of Flying Daggers” it should be evident.
why are you so obsessed with it?
Where did you get “obsessed” from what I wrote?
I think it’s probably a smart marketing move to lump this in with 300, but from what I’ve seen before this trailer this film and it’s director have achieved something far exceeding anything Zack Snyder or Frank Miller could’ve hoped to.
Tarsem is one of few director’s who can realistically be called a ‘Visionary’ based on ‘the Cell’ and ‘the Fall’ alone.
It’s interesting to note that the two directors did things backwards – Tarsem, cultivating an artistic aesthetic and voice through experimentation in commercials and ground-breaking films first, and Snyder probably going the reverse route.
As a fan of Carvaggio paintings that Tarsem is clearly referencing throughout this and previous trailers, I’d be willing to see this on the big screen, for sure.
omg this is so amazing! this trailer is really more impressive than first one was.
ps: singh is know also for amazing storytelling! so this one should have much more interesting plot than 300 has imo. and visual for sure will be much more interesting.
