You may need help finding it on your cable dial, but Pop (home to the Canadian comedy Schitt’s Creek) has acquired Impress Me, a 13-episode scripted series from Rainn Wilson‘s production company, SoulPancake.
Impress Me‘s first six, half-hour episodes premiered on SoulPancake’s YouTube channel, but an additional seven never-before-scene episodes will now debut on Pop.
The series comes from writer and director Ben Shelton, and focuses on two celebrity impressionists (Ross Marquand and Jim Meskimen) who are trying to quit that line of work and become serious actors. According to the press release, the effect is “total chaos.”
But there will be more than just celebrity impressions — a few actual celebrities (Angela Kinsey, Erika Christensen, Matt Jones, Josh Groban, and Weird Al Yankovic) are all slated to appear.
Brad Schwartz, the president of Pop, said of the series,
We discovered this gem of a show on YouTube from Rainn Wilson and SoulPancake that absolutely killed us. And since we know that nobody is watching content online 😉 we wanted to bring our television audience exclusive new episodes of this scripted comedy series that captures the spirit of celebrity fandom with a ton of heart, while also being a great match to follow the biggest hit in our network’s history, SCHITT’S CREEK, on Wednesday nights.

Impress Me will premiere on Pop Wednesday, March 18th at 10:30 p.m.
