Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the upcoming comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Steve Carell stars as a Vegas magician whose relationship with his partner (Steve Buscemi) becomes strained as the two start getting upstaged by a hipper illusionist (Jim Carrey). I can’t even imagine a universe where Carell and Buscemi are anything less than great as a comedy team, well-suited to play corny, old-school magicians. Likewise, Carrey is good get to play the intense adversary, and writers Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley have some funny stunts lined up for his Criss Angel doppleganger: “For twelve days he’s held. His. Urine.” Yet judging by the trailer-closing joke, Alan Arkin may just steal the show as the elder magician who inspired Burt.
Olivia Wilde, James Gandolfini, and Jay Mohr also star. Directed by Don Scardino, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone opens March 15, 2013. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Incredible Burt Wonderstone:
Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt’s growing ego. But lately the duo’s greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they’ve grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there’s still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act—both onstage and off—if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.

The end…lol
That failed to make me laugh, chuckle, smile, or think nice thoughts.
I chuckled a few times. mite b cool
Well…I’m pleasantly surprised. This actually looks like it could be really funny. Steve Carell is always good, and it’s nice to see Jim Carrey doing something that doesn’t involve penguins or…penguins. If the movie is as funny as this trailer promises, they have my money.
This has potential! I don’t see why people are panning it just off this trailer — guess they’re mad it didn’t have the obligatory kick to the crotch that they feel is the key to all comedy. “Michael Bay got it RIGHT in Transformers, by gosh!”
Well, there were no crotch kicks, but plenty of low brow humor. The “you must love Bay/Transformers/shit if you don’t like this” defense isn’t very good in this case.
Hmm, Everything that had Jim Carrey in it made me laugh! The rest was so so, I wish this was just a full Jim Carrey movie like Ace Ventura. Some great lines here already..
that hurts…physically.
Carey is awesome but Carell is miscast . They should have gotten, here comes my fantasy , Will Ferrel for Carell’s part and Melissa McCarthy( of course they’d have to change the gender story line for that character) instead of Buscemi as his sidekick.
And I would have left old fu** Arkin at the home and used Ellliot Gould. A sentimental story line around his character wold have added a nice ending after so much magic one up man ship.
Gould in my fantasy script would have gotten so sick and tired of the bs between the main characters that he would have left retirement by putting those two in their place with REAL magic by using his stuff to bi*** slap some sense into them. Use magic to inspire not to destroy.
And I would have had bit player magicians like Alec Baldwin, Kevin James and Tome cCruise cameo during the klimax
……no
Just no
