The first image from Scream 4 has gone online.  In it, we see that Ghostface (even though the person behind the mask changes with every film) still has it in for Courtney Cox’s character, Gale Weathers.  Entertainment Weekly reports that Gale is now retired from being an entertainment journalist, married to Dewey (David Arquette) and bored with life until Ghostface returns and brings some murderin’ excitement.

Entertainment Tonight also visited the set of the film and spoke with the actors.  Obviously, there’s nothing super-revealing in either the image or the interviews/behind-the-scenes footage, but if you want your Scream fix, then hit the jump.  Directed by Wes Craven, Scream 4 also stars Neve Campbell, Emma Roberts, and Hayden Panettiere.  It opens on April 15, 2011.

We have two quick pieces of Scream 4 news for you today.  First up, photos from the set of the film have leaked online.  There’s nothing massive like, “Oh, so all those people die.”  More like, “I see Neve Campbell has grown her hair out.”  There are also some snaps of cast members Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, and David Arquette.

There’s also some very interesting news from Ann Arbor [via Bloody Disgusting] that Neve Campbell and Scream co-star Matthew Lillard will spotted having dinner together last Thursday.  In the first Scream, Lillard played Stuart ‘Stu’ Macher and was easily the best thing in the entire movie (“My mom and dad are going to be so mad at me!”).  Hit the jump to check out some of the photos snapped from the set and hopefully we’ll be able to find out more about Lillard’s role in the movie.  Scream 4 is slated to open on April 15, 2011.

THREE MUSKETEERS to Compete with SCREAM 4 on April 15, 2011

by     Posted 3 years, 22 days ago

We have two quick release-date stories for you.  First up, Summit has set Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers for April 15, 2011.  This will put it up against Wes Craven’s Scream 4.  As we reported earlier today, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin will join Emma Roberts in the slasher flick along with original stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette.

However, Musketeers has a pretty killer line-up.  Christoph Waltz, Mads Mikkelsen, Milla Jovovich, and Orlando Bloom are all playing villains in the film.  Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) will play the lead role of D’Artagnan with Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans), and Matthew Macfadyen as the trio of musketeers. Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin Confirmed to Join Emma Roberts in Wes Craven’s SCREAM 4

by     Posted 3 years, 22 days ago

Yesterday, we reported that Emma Roberts (Hotel for Dogs) had been cast as the lead in Wes Craven’s Scream 4.  Last week, we also reported that Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) Lake Bell (It’s Complicated), and Rory Culkin (Mean Creek) were in talks to join the cast.  Today, Variety reports that Panettiere and Culkin have officially come on board.  As we previously reported, Panettiere would be playing Roberts’ nerdy best friend and Culkin would be playing Roberts’ love interest.

Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette are all returning with Craven working from a script by original writer Kevin Williamson.  Hit the jump for more details on the project along with the official poster.  Scream 4 is slated to hit theaters on April 15, 2011.

Emma Roberts Joins Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell in SCREAM 4

Emma Roberts Scream 4

Emma Roberts has been cast in Dimension Films Scream 4 as Jill – who is one of the film’s primary heroines.  She’s joining Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell in director/producer Wes Craven’s film.

With shooting set to begin in a little over a month, the film is putting the finishing touches on casting.  Just a week ago we reported the studio was in talks with Ashley Greene (Twilight), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Lake Bell (It’s Complicated), and Rory Culkin (Mean Creek) to join the cast.  But with Emma Roberts landing the role of Jill – who was the role Greene was up for – it remains unclear if Greene is out of the running completely. Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere, Lake Bell, and Rory Culkin in Talks to Join SCREAM 4

by     Posted 3 years, 30 days ago

With Scream 4 set to open next year on April 15, 2011, Dimension Studios has begun looking for fresh new faces to join the horror movie franchise.  The studio is currently in talks with Ashley Greene (Twilight), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Lake Bell (It’s Complicated), and Rory Culkin (Mean Creek) to join returning cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox in the film.  Heat Vision reports that if the deals are made, Green would be playing Campbell’s cousin in the film named Jill with Culkin being cast as her potential love interest.  Panettiere would be playing a nerdy film geek who is her best friend.  Meanwhile, Bell will be playing a police officer who knew Sidney (Campbell) from high school.

The story is still unknown due to secrecy but the plan is for the film to “be seen as a passing of the baton to a new generation of slasher victims.”  This makes sense since Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, who kicked off the series as writer and director, respectively, will resume their respective roles for this latest installment.  Filming is expected to begin in July.  Here’s the first poster if you missed it.

While filming on Scream 4 (or is it Scre4m) doesn’t begin until this June in Michigan, the first poster has just been released.  In addition, Wes Craven spoke to EW about what fans can expect in the next installment and how if the sequel is successful, he’s already signed for Scream 5 and Scream 6.  Hit the jump for more.  Scream 4 arrives April 15, 2011.

SCREAM 4 Set to Shoot This Spring

Wes Craven will begin shooting Scream 4 this spring.  Variety reports that they’ve set a release date of April 12, 2011.  Fun fact: Scream 3 opened on February 4, 2000.  And yet Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courtney Cox are all set to reprise their roles and join a cast of younger actors.  Said Weinstein Company co-chairman Bob Weinstein:

“‘Scream’ has been such an integral part of Dimension’s history, and I look forward to continuing the franchise.”

I look forward to it as well because it’s not like Scream was originally a critique on the slasher genre until it became what it was criticizing.  Sadly, nothing will beat the first film since it had Skeet Ulrich stabbing himself.
