Last week, we got the first trailer for Injustice 2. Then we got a look at some of the gameplay from the upcoming video game. Now, thanks to an IGN sitdown with NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon, a walkthrough of the game’s features presents us with over 15 minutes of glorious footage from the brawler. As you can see, things have gotten no less bonkers in the fighting style, and Boon details how they’ve made the game a more immersive this time around.
As we previously reported, there will be a heavy emphasis on “personalization, character creation, loot, leveling up.” Boon says:
Every character in Injustice 2 will have “a vast, vast array of what we’re calling gear” – costume pieces and equipment that are used to upgrade your abilities – according to Boon. The superhero you start controlling at the beginning of the game won’t have the same skills as the one you end with. Players will determine whether they want more speed, more health, more strength, and the like. “There are thousands and thousands of pieces for, let’s say, the Flash,” he says. “You are in the constant process of making your version of the Flash.”
That sounds like a fun way to get people deeper into the game, and I hope there’s a way for people to share their goofy creations beyond the normal means of the PS4 Share Button and Twitch.
