Currently playing in theaters is the new Coen Brothers’ film, Inside Llewyn Davis.  The folk music drama centers on the title character (Oscar Isaac), a young singer attempting to navigate the Greenwich Village scene in the early 1960s.  If you need more of a hook to get you into the theater, this new clip from the film highlights the musicality of the picture, with Isaac recording a song live alongside costars Justin Timberlake and Adam Driver.  Stick around after the clip for commentary from executive music producer, T-Bone Burnett.

INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles—some of them of his own making.

    Man. I simply cannot get enough of T Bone Birnette speaking frankly about his music on film. Def gotta see this but – am driven to wonder where the worlds ears would be if not for enterprising producers such as himself.

    That song sounds so over the top cheesy, no doubt. Seems to be the point! Yet, hearing his approach to achieve it makes cheese sound downright profound! Specifically crafted to move & stir the masses. Crazy. This movie looks crazy! Haha
