CBS Films has released a new trailer for the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. The story takes place in the Greenwich Village folk scene in 1961, and follows singer Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) as he struggles with his career and strained personal relationships. I saw the film at the New York Film Festival, and though it was great. It’s melancholy, but also quite moving, and the music is absolutely wonderful. The new trailer provides a nice blend of the comic moments, the drama, and plenty of blurbs from ecstatic critics.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, and John Goodman. Inside Llewyn Davis opens December 6th.
Here’s the official synopsis for Inside Llewyn Davis:
INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles—some of them of his own making.
