The guy or gal who was tasked with coming up with a tagline for the Insidious trailer didn’t do a very good job. The trailer tries to play on the line “Insidious is Insidious” which makes the movie sound more like an Internet meme than a horror film. Or maybe they just wanted to put the “taut” back into “tautology”. Either way, the trailer then tries to pull a little twist by saying “Look! It isn’t a haunted house movie! It’s a haunted child movie! You haven’t seen that before, have you? Oh. You have. Well…crap.”
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and get a bad case of haunted child. Insidious stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Barbara Hershey. The film opens April 1st.

Here’s the synopsis for Insidious:
When proud parents take possession of an old house to build a nest for their family, an accident results in one of their sons falling into a coma. The tragedy doesn’t stop there when they are beset by vengeful spirits from another realm in this new chiller by the director and writer of Saw and by the producers of Paranormal Activity.

It’s funny to me that this getting blasted for being unoriginal when all we’ve heard about this movie is how original and fun it is.
I am pleasantly surprised by this trailer. It probably won’t be the most original horror film, but it looks worthwhile.
Come on, when is a horror film “original.” The concept of horror has about 6 different strains, they have all been played to death. What we need is a horror film that is ENTERTAINING, CREEPY, and SOMEWHAT BELIEVABLE.
I didn’t like this trailer mostly for the “Insidious” “Is” popping up about 50 times before it says “everywhere …. ” I mean, that is a really stupid way to lead into an opening date.
The film itself looks like it could be good though, I did get a few heart palpitations from it but that could be from the soda I just drank.
i just read the review, now watching the trailer…. uhm… yeah, it doesn’t look all that scary. and trailers are usually good at that.
am i the only one who had to look the title in the dictionary?
have you heard about Bryce Mouer’s GENRE?? scary clown movie? someomne inside the biz leeked it was awesome..waiting for footage
its a short film – that will be tied up in legal issues and never seen due to the director’s breach of contract with the co-owner/author. he’s actually committed copyright infringement without getting the proper auhtorizations to produce the project
I just saw the movie and it scared the hell outta me. I almost juiced my popcorn. I saw it with a couple of friends and we all agreed it scared us good. I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight.
yep , saw the movie … AWSOME , I LOVED IT .
really go check it out , sad ending though but good . is their gonna be a 2?
Insidious can be a great scary movie..but it tends to be copy of the original poltergeist movie; example: how many times do we see a movie like this where a house is haunted; we need to hire a person to rid of the evil! Oh and lets get two guys and maybe a old woman to give us extra advce and oh I hope they carry a vdeo camera and record this! And all these special effects. This movie should had stayed spooky with creepy shadows and unseen movements but it had to result to hollywood effects this a okay fright flick but I can only rate it between no more than 2 and a half to three stars- a great horror flick is 5 stars until then i’m waiting
Nice one alan. Thankfully I’ve seen the film, but your comment would have nearly made it pointless watching it if I hadn’t! Why can’t you people think before posting? You may as well have explained that the Dad is the main target all along, from some old woman, and that she gets him at the end.
Nice one mate. Nice one.
not even scary lol its funny i like it all
Honestly Insidious scared the shit out of me… Then again I have a small fear of paranormal things. I’d have to say a few parts just had me so scared I couldn’t look away, but a few parts, like a pair of freakyass twins, was what I felt like a rip-off of The Shining and other classic horror films. But highest rating I’d give it is probably 3.5 to 4 stars. When our not so friendly demon pops up behind the dad’s head is what got me scariest horrified. I’d have to say, being a PG-13 horror it definitely gave me a fear of the dark. I definitely did find myself jumpy and cautious the next few days. But he actor performances were absolutely perfect, not one time did I question the characters’ motives.
