A bit of TV pilot casting, starting with an item for those of you who wondered where Josh Holloway went after Lost signed off in 2010:

  • Holloway is back to play “a former Navy SEAL and dedicated intelligence officer” in the CBS drama Intelligence.
  • Andre Braugher (Last Resort) and Melissa Fumero (One Life to Live) will star opposite Andy Samberg and Terry Crews in the untitled Fox sitcom from Parks and Recreation writers Mike Schur and Dan Goor.
  • Maiara Walsh (Switched at Birth) will take over for Emma Stone to play Wichita in the Zombieland TV series.

Hit the jump for more on each pilot.

josh holloway intelligenceI expected Holloway to take off after Lost, but instead Jeremy Renner took all the masculine American roles instead of splitting them with Holloway as the fates dictated.  A limited part in Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, a Community guest spot, and a few feature supporting roles on the horizon just aren’t high profile enough for Holloway.  I may not be the target audience for a CBS drama, but I trust the CBS marketing machine to know exactly what to do with Holloway, so I hope they pick it up for his sake.  Here’s the synopsis for the Michael Seitzman-scripted series:

The drama centers on U.S. Cyber Command, a unit that has been created around one agent with a very special gift: a microchip that has been implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum. [The Live Feed]

Braugher is instant gravitas, Samberg is the ultimate goofball.  Could be a great comedic pairing, especially in the hands of Schur and Goor.  Here’s the synopsis for the untitled comedy:

Single-cam laffer from Universal TV centers on a group of detectives in Gotham. Braugher will play Captain Holt, who finally receives his own command after 30 years on the force. Holt isn’t going to let anyone, especially Jake (Samberg), screw it up. [Variety]

Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will shepherd the series adaptation of their surprise 2009 hit.  Three of the core five are now cast:

Walsh will play Wichita, a natural con-woman and tough girl who with her younger sister Little Rock (Izabela Vidovic) teams up with Columbus (Tyler Ross) to survive the zombie apocalypse and search for survivors. [The Live Feed]
