Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is inching closer to its big debut, so to pave the way, Empire Magazine is featuring Matthew McConaughey on the cover of the November issue. Physical and digital copies won’t be available until Thursday, September 25th, but Empire did reveal the subscriber and newsstand versions of the cover.
Hit the jump to check out the Interstellar artwork. The film opens in 2D and IMAX on November 7th, and also stars Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, David Oyelowo, Wes Bentley, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn, Topher Grace, David Gyasi, Mackenzie Foy, Bill Irwin, Timothée Chalamet and Matt Damon.
We won’t get the full story until the November issue arrives on Thursday, but Empire did tease its report with this quote from Nolan:
“It’s a very classically constructed movie, but the freshness of the narrative elements really enhance it. I liken it to the blockbusters I grew up with as a kid, family films in the best sense: edgy, incisive, challenging.”
The outlet also shared Nolan’s thoughts on how Interstellar compares to Inception:
“It’s almost a mirror image of Inception. It expands out in the way Inception contracts inwards.”
We’re still without an official plot synopsis, but we know that the film involves a team of explorers who discover a wormhole to “surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.”
