While natural disasters in the real world are becoming increasingly frequent and devastating, they remain quite fun to view in the relative safety of a movie theater. Enter Into the Storm, director Steven Quale’s tornado picture that takes a found-footage approach to stormchasers and small-town citizens attempting to survive a deadly outbreak of twisters. We have five new images from the action-thriller to share with you today, featuring an upclose and personal look at the inside of a tornado, plus the rare and deadly fire-twister.
Be sure to read up on my set visit report for Into the Storm, along with interviews with Quale, producer Todd Garner, and stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Richard Armitage, and Matt Walsh. Here’s the official synopsis for Into the Storm:
In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of the most furious twisters they’ve ever seen. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most seek shelter; others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs and courageous townspeople, the movie throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme.
