We had a feeling that Netflix would be releasing the trailer for Luke Cage (and Sweet Christmas they did) at San Diego Comic Con, but what we didn't expect was a Defenders teaser and the first footage from Iron Fist. The final member of the Defenders team (which includes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage) is also one of the strangest, as far as comic mythology goes. But as a close friend of Cage (again, in the comics), it makes sense to debut their footage together.

The Iron Fist teaser is fairly straight-forward: After a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) is taken in my monks and trained up to become a legendary fighter. Eventually he returns to New York (and isn't exactly accepted, as we see from the hospital scene), and fights to claim what is his. Check out the teaser below:

You can expect to see the (former, and soon again to be perhaps) billionaire Buddhist monk (and martial arts expert) begin fighting corruption in 2017, and teaming up with his fellow Defenders some time after that. The series also stars Jessica Henwick as Rand’s ally and dojo-owner Colleen Wing, David Denham as Harold Meachum, a ruthless corporate leader, and Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey as Meachum’s children Joy and Ward, who have been building up Rand Enterprises since Danny’s disappearance. Carrie-Anne Moss will also reprise her role of Jeri Hogarth, helping to connect the world to that of Jessica Jones.

But the real question is, are we going to see Danny Rand punch a dragon in the heart? That would be a kind of perfect circle to Finn Jones' time on Game of Thrones until now ...

Stay tuned for more news about Iron Fist, The Defenders, and when we might actually get to see the series land on Netflix.
