Seems like I was just telling someone that Collider would be posting a lot of "Inglorious Bastards" casting stories in the next few weeks… who was that?

No matter, my thesis was sound. To prove it I give you word that director Quentin Tarantino has indeed secured a deal with Brad Pitt to star in his long-cherished WW II pic from the Weinstein Co. and Universal. Yes, we all knew it was coming… someone even posted a story about it a couple of weeks ago, but now we can call the news official.

In slightly fresher "Bastards" news – guess who is in talks to play a British lieutenant in the film? Give up? According to Daily Variety that would be one Simon Pegg - sire of "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead" and… oh hell, you know the man I mean.

Two other names mentioned in the Variety article were Natassja Kinski, who is early talks to play a German movie queen, and David Krumholtz, go-to movie nerd and star of "Numbers," who would join BJ Novak as one of Pitt's underlings in the film.

So if you're keeping a "Bastards" scorecard make sure to note that we have one horror director, one sex God, two TV stars and one foreign babe all interested in becoming "Bastards"…. Oh yeah – and Brad Pitt.

I am not posting a link to the Variety story, to find out why read this.
