A little over a month ago, word got out that Paramount was making another Jackass movie. But unlike the first two very successful films, the third installment was going to be released in 3D. Well, thanks to an official press release that I just got from Paramount, not only is Jackass 3D happening, they’ve set on a release date and it’s October 15, 2010.
According to star/producer Johnny Knoxville, “we’re going to take the same 3D technology James Cameron used in Avatar and stick it up Steve O’s butt. We’re taking stupid to a whole new dimension.”
Also, according to the press release, Johnny Knoxville and the boys will begin shooting in late January with Dickhouse Production’s Jeff Tremaine directing and producing alongside Spike Jonze and Knoxville.
2002′s Jackass: The Movie earned more than more than $64 million and was heralded as “a disgusting, repulsive, grotesque spectacle, but also hilarious and provocative. God help me, thumbs up” by esteemed critic Richard Roeper. Released in 2006, Jackass: Number Two earned over $72 million and was heralded by The New York Times as being “debased, infantile and reckless in the extreme, this compendium of body bravado and malfunction makes for some of the most fearless, liberated and cathartic comedy in modern movies.”
I cannot wait to see this movie.

Lighten up people. The evolution of human kind will continue. You can take a break for an hour and a half to watch a group of people perform ridiculous stunts in the name of comedy. Even in the 21st century, laughter is still of great benefit to mankind, even if we are essentially just laughing at the intentional stupidity of the Jackass crew.

Jackass 2.5 is funnier than the 1st two movies. The send up of King Kong still makes me cry with laughter, this is one movie I cannot wait to see

There’s no doubt that these movies are dumb. But also some of the most side-splitting insanity that I’ve ever seen. Turn any of their movies on in a room full of people, and just watch how the mood changes. Everyone (that’s not getting sick) will be howling with laughter (especially if there is any drinking involvved). Sometimes the “jokes” go a little too far, but for every one “disgusting” prank, there are three unforgettable ones. I don’t know how this will be in 3D, but I’m sure I’ll be disgusted and delighted to a whole new level!
