If you have never watched any of MTV’s award shows on Tivo, you are really missing out. While I find the shows a pretty big waste of time, I reluctantly admit that you can sometimes find a good five to ten minutes per award hour that is worth watching. With my method, I can usually watch the two hour award shows in fifteen to twenty minutes. However now that they have recruited Jack Black to host the August 31st VMA’s, my strategy is all out the window. Since you really don’t know what he is going to do, I might have to watch more closely. According to Jack, “My plan is to bring the thunder. I've got my top men working on it as we speak in my thunder laboratory.

Radio City Music Hall will never be the same.” You might be wondering why Jack is hosting this year. That’s easy. He is beginning to promote the Tenacious D film The Pick of Destiny, which arrives November 17th from New Line Cinema. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the trailer yet, what are you waiting for? Also below are some images from the film. The MTV VMA’s will be on August 31st at 8pm. Scheduled to perform are Beyonce, Panic! at the Disco, T.I. The Killers, Ludacris, and Justin Timberlake. More performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
