Paramount Pictures made a bit of a surprise announcement a few weeks ago when we learned that the heretofore rumored film Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa had not only been filmed already, but was slated for release in theaters this coming October.  Now the first images and details from the pic have landed online, giving us a clearer idea of what the Jackass spinoff entails.  Johnny Knoxville reprises his 85-year-old Irving Zisman character in the film, which blends Jackass-style prank footage involving the unsuspecting public with a narrative arc (not unlike Borat).  Knoxville is joined onscreen by his Fun Size co-star Jackson Nicoll, who plays Zisman’s 8-year-old grandson Billy.  Jackass staple Jeff Tremaine directed the film and co-wrote the script with Knoxville and Spike Jonze.

Here’s the official synopsis for Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa:

86 year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companions, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy in "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa”. This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicholl) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera.

Along the way Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term childrearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens.

Real people in unreal situations, making for one really messed up comedy.
