James Bond fanatics are going to have a very happy 2012.  This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Bond film franchise, and in addition to the release of the next Bond film, Skyfall, Fox and MGM will release all of the previous 22 Bond films in one gigantic Blu-ray box set this fall.  The announcement was made at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, which is where the Star Wars Blu-ray announcement was made last year.  In addition to featuring every movie from Dr. No through Quantum of Solace, the box set will include nine Bond movies that have never been released in HD before.

The box set features 130 hours of bonus features (Fox knows how to do right by their home releases when it comes to extras) and have an MSRP of about $240.  I hope one of the extras on the Die Another Day Blu-ray is someone desperately trying to explain why a car chase with invisible cars wasn’t an astoundingly stupid idea.  Hit the jump for a full look at the box art and the press release.

UPDATE: We’ve been sent the trailer for the box set.  It’s after the jump.

“I hope one of the extras on the Die Another Day Blu-ray is someone desperately trying to explain why a car chase with invisible cars wasn’t an astoundingly stupid idea.”

Good thing the car isn’t invisible during the actual chase scene, then.

How about releasing the nine films not-yet-released on Blu-ray individually so we consumers can pick and choose what we want to buy. I can’t believe I still can’t get Goldeneye on Bluray!

There was no such thing as a car chase with invisible cars. The chase only began after the bondcar’s invisibility system failed and it ended when it became active again.
Really, Die Another Day had so many problems that you could complain about, yet you just decide to make something up?

I’m with Guest. If you’re gonna crack wise about how stupid a scene is, you might want to pick a scene that actually exists. Or, you know, do some research.

See, as long as they keep making new Bond films, there’ll never be any sort of “complete” DVD set. I understand why they do this, but it’s an illusion. Guess there’s no Bond backlash, the way there pretended to be with Star Wars.

Amazon UK is already taking preorders at only 89Sterling that is a bargain. Although i have others released so far I ordered this pack as it is cheaper than buying the other nine individualy.Plusd you save on shipping as a single unit cost for all 22.Only thing I an not sure is if it will be multi region discs.

I preordered this from amazon UK today.Release date 1 October 2012.It is only Sterling 89 for all 22 films it is a bargain. although I have all other releases on Bluray so far, buying this is cheaper than buying others individually as shipping is as one unit where as if you buy other nine cost will be prohibitive.Amazon US has not listed this.
I am only worried about region as I have PS3 region A player.Anybody has anyidea on the region
