Those with ventured into the crowded, hot, and bizarre world of Comic-Con's preview night were rewarded with a sneak-peak at what is likely the most talked and mysterious movie of the year if not the decade. That's right, the shroud has finally been lifted and we have our first look at a whole slew of goodies from James Cameron's AVATAR.

After the jump a little more on the movie, and a whole bunch of pictures.

In addition to a giant display of Master of the Universe toys, complete with a massive façade of Castle Greyskull, Mattel's booth casually displayed about a dozen different Avatar toys. Most were of the various beasts on the alien world around which the movie centers.

The toys were shown both in-box, and in dynamically angled diorama. There were several flying beasties that I can best describe as neon-colored Dragons. They looked like big, fierce, BAMF-y creatures. If the concept art that we have previously seen is accurate to the final film (and indeed it is very accurate to the look of the monsters), and the power suit on display is life-size, then these alien animals are at least 40 feet long.

Also, there was another alien that looked like a panther with a mouth taking up half its head, and something that vaguely resembled a unicorn with 6 legs. The creatures were fantastic and weird.

Though there were no toys of the mysterious Na'vi we did get a look at an action figure of Sam Worthington's wheelchair bound protagonist who has, until now, not been shown in any form.

We'll hopefully see our first glimpse of these creatures and many more in Hall H tomorrow.
