James McAvoy has been cast in Nicole Holofcener's ("Friends with Money", "Lovely & Amazing") untitled cancer comedy with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg on board to produce. More details after the jump.

James McAvoy will be playing a character based on screenwriter Will Reiser who was diagnosed with cancer when he was 25 years old. You might remember hearing about this film earlier this year when it was announced as a producing project for writing partners Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. It was then going under the name "I'm With Cancer" but Variety says the film is "yet-to-be-titled".

It looks like we will be seeing more of a dramedy than a comedy given the subject matter and the people involved. Director Nicole Holofcener has been able to give us some very solid films over the years which have a great subtle comedic edge to them. I'm very interested in seeing how a collaboration between her, McAvoy, Rogen, and Goldberg will turn out like. Holofcener's latest film, "Please Give", will be released later on this year.
