Jamie Bell to Co-Star with Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton in THE RETREAT

Jamie Bell (Defiance) has signed on to star opposite Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton in Carl Tibbets’ thriller The Retreat.  Per Deadline, “focuses on a couple vacationing  on a remote island as they try to repair their marriage. When they find a soldier washed up on the beach in a biohazard suit, they discover everyone else has been killed by an airborne virus.”  And as any travel agent will tell you, an airborne virus will ruin just about any vacation.

Belle is shapping up to have a big 2011.  He’ll be seen in Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Jane Eyre, the Roman action-adventure The Eagle, and as the title character in Steven Spielberg’s 3D motion-capture adaptation of Herge’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.
