Jean Dujardin and Cecile de France to Star in Romantic Thriller MOBIUS

     November 8, 2011

French actors Jean Dujardin (The Artist) and Cecile de France (Hereafter) will lead Eric Rochant‘s romantic thriller, Mobius.  According to Variety, Mobius is set in Monte Carlo and the world of high finance.  Dujardin will play “an experienced spy tracking a powerful oligarch suspected of laundering money through his bank,” with de France co-starring “as a bright young trader”.  The movie is currently in pre-production and aiming for a winter 2012 release.

Dujardin is an actor you need to keep on your radar.  He’s almost a lock for a Best Actor Oscar nomination for The Artist (he already won the Best Actor award at Cannes), and you should check out his spy-spoof movie OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies, which is currently on Netflix Instant.  The Artist opens in limited release on November 23rd.  Click here to read my review and hit the jump to check out the trailer.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Artist:

Hollywood 1927. George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is a silent movie superstar. The advent of the talkies will sound the death knell for his career and see him fall into oblivion. For young extra Peppy Miller (Berenice Bejo), it seems the sky’s the limit – major movie stardom awaits. THE ARTIST tells the story of their interlinked destinies.
