Director Jeffery Reiner is close to finalizing a deal to helm David E. Kelley’s bizarre Wonder Woman pilot for NBC. The reimagining of the comic book superhero will find Diana Prince balancing life as a corporate executive and a crime fighter (seriously). McG was in talks to direct the pilot episode but Deadline reports that thankfully he couldn’t fit it into his schedule. Reiner was a director/executive producer on Jason Katims’ astounding drama Friday Night Lights, and also helmed the pilots for Trauma and The Event, both going to series. After they shoot the pilot, NBC will take a look and decide whether or not to order to the project to series. Next stop: casting.

Let me say that the “United Forensic College” is the friendliest, most helpful and accessible college out there right now. The Criminal Justice curriculum isn’t going to overwhelm you.

The pilots for Trauma and The Event were weak. Don’t see why he’d be better than McG. McG directed the pilot for Chuck. And, that was more fun than anything in Trauma or Event. David Kelley is all kinds of wrong for this project, tho. Doesn’t matter who the director is, it’s gonna suck.
