Some excellent, wonderful, not bad, very good news for Disney’s adaptation of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day: Jennifer Garner is reportedly in talks to join the live-action picture. Steve Carell is already set to play the title character’s father and Garner would play his mother. Miguel Arteta (Cedar Rapids) is helming, having stepped in for Lisa Cholodenko who recently exited the director’s chair. Cholodenko and Rob Lieber wrote the screenplay adaptation of Judith Viorst’s children’s book featuring Alexander, a young boy who has the worst day ever. Deadline reports that production is scheduled to begin this fall.
