Jennifer Lawrence Stuns as Katniss Everdeen in New THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE Image

Highly-stylized images featuring the stars of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in character have been released over the last two days, but we were surprised by the sudden drop of Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence all dressed up as Katniss Everdeen.  You would think they’d hold onto this stunner until all of the other characters had been revealed, but perhaps the studio is hoping to capitalize on the star’s current surge in popularity…not that I expect it to abate any time soon.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
