I think that, despite its conceptual unpopularity, there is a case to be made for the remake. But this news does not a case make. THR reports that Jennifer Lopez is in talks to star in an Overboard remake in the works at Columbia. The 1987 original starred couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in the nautical farce, in which the narrative is kinda dubiously driven by amnesia and a fake marriage. Lopez seems a good enough approximation for Hawn’s bubbly charm, though it’ll be difficult to come up with a 21st century Russell. Dream casting off the top of my head: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Thoughts?

Personally, I'd say this isn't needed as the original still holds up even to this day. I had the chance to watch it recently and the film still has its charm; Goldie and Kurt at their best. I don't wanna imagine Jennifer Lopez in such a funny role.
This original movies is so much a favorite of mine and I will love to see Vince Vaughns put a big Swinger cock in Salinas fat ass!

I agree with Mcd_lyte..Vince Vaughan would be HILARIOUS, and honestly, I think Jennifer Aniston would do a better “Goldie” part. But Def V.V. I was thinking Matthew Mcconaghy(sp?) but when I read that , I thought…”that's it!” LOL
