Last year, we reported on the news that director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) was planning to make Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, which follows Hansel and Gretel fifteen years after their ordeal with the witch and the gingerbread house --- the siblings are now bounty hunters who go after witches.  At that time, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's production company, Gary Sanchez Prods., were very interested in the idea and seemed to be on board to produce the film.We haven’t heard much about the film until today.  While doing an interview with the Norwegian website Dagsavisen (via Twitch) at Venice International Film Festival, Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) let it slip that he’s up for the part of Hansel with Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) set to star as Gretel.  I sadly don’t speak Norwegian, so we don’t really have any more updates or details on the film for right now.I'll watch Renner in anything and this film sounds like a lot of fun, but in the meantime you can next see Renner in this fall’s The Town and in next year’s Mission: Impossible reboot.  Meanwhile, Rapace has reportedly been meeting with a lot of Hollywood producers and is in talks to possibly join Sherlock Holmes 2.
