With director Dennis Gansel’s Mechanic: Resurrection opening this weekend, I was able to land an exclusive interview with Jessica Alba. She talked about why audiences love watching Jason Statham beat the shit out of people and then killing them, wanting to tackle more comedies and action roles in the future, what she collects, co-founding The Honest Company and not just being an actor, and more.

If you’re not familiar with Mechanic: Resurrection, the sequel to the 2011 action film sees Statham returning as Bishop, who’s thrust back into the world of murder and tasked with performing nearly impossible assassinations against his will. Alba plays a mix between capable action heroine and the damsel in distress, and Tommy Lee Jones co-stars as a weapons dealer (and he has a lot of fun with it).

Check out what Alba had to say in the video above. You can also watch the Mechanic: Resurrection trailer below and here's my interview with Statham.

Here's the official synopsis for Mechanic: Resurrection:

Arthur Bishop [Jason Statham] returns as the Mechanic in the sequel to the 2011 action thriller. When the deceitful actions of a cunning but beautiful woman [Jessica Alba] force him to return to the life he left behind, Bishop’s life is once again in danger as he has to complete an impossible list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world.
