Marvel’s Netflix cinematic universe yielded another massive success with Jessica Jones, but one thing the show didn’t see was Patsy Walker fulfilling her comic book destiny in becoming Hellcat. Though, she did get in a few good punches. With the series given the go-ahead for a Season 2, perhaps she’ll have another chance. If so, Rachael Taylor is more than willing to sink her teeth into that role.

Speaking with Comic Book Resources, the actress said of her character’s superhero potential:

I try not to get ahead of myself and think about it too much, because it's easy to get carried away and think about things. You don't want to count your eggs before they hatch, I guess, because we just found out about the second season today -- and this is my first show that's gone to a second season, so I'm super stoked. I already feel like I have more than my share, in a way, being on Netflix, being in the Marvel Universe, being in this show that has resonated so deeply with people. But of course, I mean, it would be amazing. I mean, it's already a privilege to play a history that has so much lineage within the Marvel Universe. And to take it that one step further is something that, yeah, I'd love to get my teeth stuck into whatever happens to the character.

There are a lot of potential story lines to continue with in Season 2, including Patsy’s investigation into how Jessica got her powers, and her ex-boyfriend fallout with Nuke. In addition, Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos said during the TCA presentations that they’re open to more Marvel series. “It’s always possible. All the characters in the universe could also spin out,” he said, though Punisher is the only one rumored for a potential standalone. Hellcat, arguably, doesn’t seem to warrant a spinoff given that her story arc is so intertwined with Jessica’s, but you never know. Let’s hope that, one way or the other, Patsy gets more action.
