Marvel has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Jessica Jones, the second in a series of Netflix shows based on Marvel Comics characters. With AKA Jessica Jones as its source material, Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter as a former superhero now working as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City. Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight) acts as showrunner with Liz Friedman and Jeph Loeb executive producing.

This trailer is very much a teaser in that it doesn’t have any actual footage from the show, but it does offer a brief tease of the vibe we might expect—and it's funny! I’m very curious to see what Marvel cooks up here. Daredevil was Marvel TV’s first bona fide “hit”, but one imagines the self-serious, fist fight-heavy style of that series won’t be as prevalent in Jessica Jones. With four Netflix series planned in all, the idea is for each to be a different “flavor” while still existing in the same universe—kind of like the relationship between the individual movies in the MCU. What flavor will Jessica Jones be? I have no idea, but I’m curious to find out.

Meanwhile, Season 2 of Daredevil is already in production for release in 2016, meaning the strict schedule that Marvel/Netflix originally laid out (Daredevil followed by Jessica Jones followed by Luke Cage followed by Iron Fist followed by The Defenders) won't necessarily stay that way, leaving the door open for further seasons should certain series take off.

Check out the brief Jessica Jones teaser below, and stay tuned for a full trailer fairly soon. The series also stars Mike Colter, David Tennant, Rachael Taylor, and Carrie-Anne Moss. All episodes of Jessica Jones will be released on Netflix on November 20th.

Here’s the official logline for Marvel’s Jessica Jones:

After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.
