As if having Will Ferrell show up for the tail end of this season wasn’t good enough, the season finale of The Office will have another fantastic guest star. EW reports Jim Carrey will appear on this season’s last episode which will air May 19th. Keep in mind that since Steve Carell is leaving the show before the last episode there’s little chance that we’ll see Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty on screen together, but maybe they’ll surprise us. Carrey joins the ranks of Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, James Spader, Ray Romano and Catherine Tate as one of the many people interviewing to take Michael Scott’s job at Dunder-Mifflin. The episode is one of those hour-long installments, so there’s plenty of time for more guest stars. I just hope there’s still some surprises in store for us. Either way, Carrey should make for a great appearance to finish the season.

  1. As much of a Will Ferrell fan as I am, and as much as I was looking forward to his episode, I didn’t find it funny at all. My wife and I agreed that it was awful. Is it just me or every time they introduce a manager type character, they are always mean and brings the show down? I hope the stupid writers of this show don’t screw up the opportunity they have with Jim Carrey. Anyone disagree?

    • Yeah Anchorman was CLASSIC but you are way off saying Ferrell hasnt been funny for a long time. He has done some pretty good things.

Stranger than Fiction was a great movie. and LAND OF THE LOST was really overlooked, understandibly so but it had plenty of trademark Ferrell moments, if you like them.

I thought Ricky Bobby was pretty funny, but I will agree that he has not had a hugely funny film recently but still believe he is the funniest guy in movies.

I will also respectfully disagree that his first time on the Office wasnt funny.

The opening scene had me rolling and a true fan of the show would know that the awkward moments are the truly funny parts.

Carrell’s Scott was king of uncomfortable.

I think like you I expected something ELSE. I expected Brick and Ron to start going back and forth but that just didnt happen throughout the whole show.

I think he would be a great addition to the show and would provide a great replacement but I think the show is on its last leg overall.

  2. You guys also gotta remember that Will Ferrel is working off the writers script. I think he’s funny in both episodes so far but they have him working around a really weird script. First he’s a nice guy, then he’s as asshole, and now he’s a wimp. Who knows what they’ll have him do next? So I wouldn’t be too hard on him. He is trying. And you have to be a good fan of the office to understand the humor and the characters. If its your first time watching it.. don’t expect a whole lot.
