Per Heat Vision, we learned that Jim Sturgess is set to star as a Harvard Medical School grad who becomes obsessed with Kate Beckinsale’s character after taking a job at a mental institution now being run by the patients themselves. The film is loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether and is being directed by Brad Anderson. Sturgess can be seen next in The Best Offer also starring Geoffrey Rush.
From Deadline comes the announcement that Jean Reno and Toni Collette have both secured roles in the romantic comedy Hector and the Search for Happiness. The film centers around Hector (Simon Pegg), a psychiatrist who searches the globe to find the secret of happiness. Reno and Collette complete the star-studded cast also comprised of Rosamund Pike, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Plummer, Desiree Zurowski, and Jakob Davies.
