Veteran actor and Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons brought an unapologetic ferocity to his portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and Damien Chazelle's perfection-obsessed musician Fletcher in Whiplash, but he's bringing out the big guns for Zack Snyder's Justice League. The 61-year-old actor is filming the hugely anticipated Warner Bros. movie this month alongside the superheroic Ben Affleck, Henry CavillJason Momoa, and Gal Gadot, who are a fraction of his age. Simmons ain't worried about that.

As revealed by U.S. Marine/actor/celebrity fitness trainer Aaron Williamson (via Batman-News), Simmons has apparently been getting absolutely ripped for the role of Commissioner Gordon. Now, that's not a role that's traditionally been about highlighting the physique or physical prowess of the character, especially when he's surrounded by the likes of Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman, but you can't question Simmons' commitment to the role. Plus, his preparatory work in the gym over the last few months now gives him the right to ask any of DC Comics' superheroes, "Do you even lift, bro?"

In related news, Simmons will be donning Gordon's signature mustache, which was on display when the actor stepped out for the 2016 LA Greek Film Festival over the weekend. Check out the insanely ripped and slightly terrifying new vision that is Simmons' Commissioner Gordon below:
