A new red-band trailer for Joe Dirt 2 has been released, and no this is not a test. Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser is a real movie that was shot with real actors and will be debuting in front of real eyeballs this summer. The follow-up to the 2001 comedy brings back most of the cast, surprisingly enough, and also throws time travel into the mix. While living his “perfect life”, Dirt gets sucked into a tornado and is transported to the year 1965, Wizard of Oz-style. The story finds David Spade’s character attempting to get back to the present while ensuring that history—and thus his future—remains unchanged.

The most shocking part of this trailer is that Christopher Walken is in it, though it seems like the actor probably shot all of his scenes in one day. I was amused enough by the first film back in 2001, but my interest in this sequel is non-existent. That said, there are no doubt fans of Joe Dirt that are more than happy to spend another go-around with this character, so this is for them. Spade wrote the sequel, which was directed by The House Bunny helmer and Grown Ups scribe Fred Wolf.

Check out the red-band trailer below, via Yahoo! Movies. The film will be streaming exclusively on Crackle starting July 10th and also stars Patrick Warburton, Adam Beach, Brittany Daniel, DJ Zander Kelly, Mark McGrath (yes that Mark McGrath), and Dennis Miller (ditto).
