Last month, Google Home dropped a commercial in which Macaulay Culkin reprised his iconic role as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone. It was a great Christmas-themed ad that winked towards that beloved film without feeling too forced. Well now Google Home has dropped another Home Alone-themed commercial, this time with a major new addition: Joe Pesci.

This is a big deal. Pesci hasn’t appeared in a live-action film or TV project since 2010’s Love Ranch, and it famously took a lot of prodding from Martin Scorsese to lure Pesci out of retirement for his upcoming Netflix epic The Irishman. But this Google Home ad serves as Pesci’s first onscreen appearance in years, and it’s pretty delightful.

It’s admittedly a bit of an odd setup. Pesci watches the Macaulay Culkin Google Home ad and comments on Home Alone, teasing his “big part.” This makes me wonder if this is only the first portion of a commercial that will air during the Super Bowl. Perhaps they lured Daniel Stern back as well? Could we be in for a mini-Home Alone reunion nearly 17 years after Home Alone 2: Lost in New York? Here's hoping.
