Before John Boyega was cast as Finn in the forthcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he starred in a little British film called Attack the Block, in which a London housing project becomes a war zone as a teen street gang fights their way through encroaching extraterrestrials. To commemorate what is arguable one of the best sci-fi films of the past decade, Vice Press is releasing an officially licensed, limited-edition, glow-in-the-dark(!) screen print, and Collider has your exclusive first look.

Illustrator and comic book artist Matt Taylor is the guy who created these incredible Back to the Future II, Brick, and Where the Wild Things Are prints for Mondo. He returned with this psychedelic design for Attack the Block, which is very much channeling the same vibe Marvel went for with the companion comics for Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Boyega’s Moses takes the spotlight as he faces a horde of vicious aliens with a katana.

Taylor said in a press release:

Attack the Block is a bit of an under-looked gem of a movie - that mix of comedy with genuinely scary sci-fi horror, and I wanted to do the movie justice for this release. John Boyega’s Moses is such a magnetic character, he had to be front and centre, standing down the aliens advancing on him, with the whole thing at a titled uneasy angle that hopefully calls to mind the seventies horror and sci-fi that the film is indebted to.

The print will be available first at Thought Bubble Sequential Art Festival on Saturday, November 14th, and Sunday, November 15th. The remaining copies will then be sold on Vice Press on Monday, November 16th.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Joe Cornish’s Attack the Block:

From the producers of Shaun of the Dead, ATTACK THE BLOCK is a fast, funny, frightening action adventure movie that pits a teen street gang against an invasion of savage alien monsters. It turns a London housing project into a sci-fi battleground, the low-income apartment complex into a fortress under siege. And it turns a crazy mix of tough street kids into a team of kick ass heroes. It's inner city versus outer space and it's going to explode.

Here's a process shot for the screen print to see how it's made:
