Johnny Depp Confirmed to Cameo in 21 JUMP STREET

     April 25, 2011

It looks like Johnny Depp will be returning to his roots, albeit briefly. After months of wondering whether or not the actor would be appearing in the 21 Jump Street movie, based on the TV show that launched his career, Coming Soon reports that the actor is now confirmed to cameo in the flick. Last we heard, producers were working very hard to find time to fit the one-day shoot into Depp’s schedule, and now it looks like everything worked out.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs), the film tells the story of two young cops (Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum) who infiltrate a high school undercover. Alongside Hill and Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson and Dave Franco star, with Rob Riggle in talks to play a villain. 21 Jump Street hits theaters on March 16th 2012.

Still won’t get me to watch this movie. Hollywood’s becoming more and more of a bizarre place. I often wonder what drugs they’re taking, or what’s in the water they drink.

They take advantage of a popular entertainment brand name, one with an audience, and then make the product completely different than the original source. What’s the point? Talk about lazy, greedy, underhanded manipulation and exploitation.

I will only watch Depp’s cameo online somewhere IF neither Jonah Hill nor Channing Tatum are in the scene with him. Now way I’d pay any money to see this, not even to rent it. And I also hope the movie flops.

Well said, but if we americans don’t support our own movie industry, HOLLYWOOD would soon cater for international audiences and that would be worst in terms of quality

Not only giving the original cast of 21 Jump Street, but why not gave Johnny Depp reprising his famous role as the original Officer Tom Hanson in a good cameo for one last time would be perfect if the script is well written enough, he should have stayed in the show for six seasons instead of only four, It’s because he got annoyed by the script themselves for what reason that his lawyers forced him to leave after the fourth season he should wait for two more seasons and then the sooner he’s finished, now he can have a great movie career in the first place after all.
