The marketability of Johnny Depp helped The Lone Ranger secure an absurd $200+ million budget, but Depp will be unrecognizable in all the promotional material.  That pretty face will be caked in full makeup (inspired by a Kirby Sattler painting) to transform Depp into Tonto.  We have seen a few images---now video filmed on set of Depp in full costume and makeup has found its way online.  Check it out after the jump if you are curious.Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carter also star in The Lone Ranger, scheduled for release May 31, 2013.[EMBED_YT]https://www.youtube.com/embed/RJP5wiCTy3c?rel=0[/EMBED_YT]Sadly, Depp is not wearing the dead bird that is the highlight of the one official image (seen below).  Disney previewed the trailer at Comic-Con, so I imagine we will get to see the whole ensemble in action soon enough.  I have mocked the steep pricetag, but director Gore Verbinski (the man behind the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies) know how to wring plenty of production value out of big budgets, so I am looking forward to seeing the first true footage.Official synopsis:
