Jonah Hill Talks MONEYBALL and NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

At this year’s Toronto Film Festival, I was able to talk with Jonah Hill about director Bennett Miller’s Moneyball.  Based on the non-fiction book by Michael Lewis, the film stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, the general manager of Oakland Athletics who helped usher in a statistical revolution to professional baseball, with Hill playing a fictional character based on Paul DePodesta.  The fantastic cast also includes Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright, Stephen Bishop, Kathryn Morris, and Chris Pratt as Scott Hatteberg.

During the interview, Hill talked about working with Pitt, what kind of research he did to prepare for the film, if acting in Moneyball was different than acting in comedies, what the last year has been like as he’s appeared in a number of high profile projects, Neighborhood Watch (which also stars Ben Still and Vince Vaughn), and his intention to do another drama next year.  Hit the jump to watch.

Finally, I caught Moneyball at TIFF and thought it was great.  If you were debating seeing the film, don’t.  It’s really worth your time.  Here’s Matt’s review.
