Josh Brolin is attached to star in the adaptation of the Victor Hugo novel that centers on a gypsy girl who is framed for murder. Her savior comes in the form of Quasimodo, a hunchbacked and deformed bell-ringer. The script was written by Kieran and Michele Mulroney (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows). Variety reported on Yimou’s potential attachment to the long-developing adaptation.
