I hope Josh Hartnett graduates from high school soon.  I wonder what college he’ll go to and how his career will progress as he matures and…what?  He’s 31?  Like in dog years?  He’s 31.  Does he have a portrait of himself in his attic that just gets older for him?  Well, it looks like he’ll be playing the lead in the upcoming film “Gunslinger” which I guess they’ll have set in an alternate world where a 14-year-old can buy firearms along with some Axe Body Spray.  Hit the jump to tell Hartnett that “Halo” skills don’t translate to real weapons.

Alright, I’ll take a brief break from making jokes about Hartnett’s inability to age to report [via Variety] that Harnett will star in “Gunslinger”, which may sound similar to other movies: “a revenge-driven tale set in the near future in the snowy wasteland of a post-apocalyptic America.”  Actually, I can’t really think of any other major films that are like that.  Nevermind.  Variety goes on to report that Hartnett will play a man who, along with his brother, sets out to kill the gang who killed their parents.  I guess everyone needs a hobby in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.  However, it will be unconvincing if Hartnett buys an adult beverage at a post-apocalyptic wasteland tavern.

“This story takes a unique and startling look at what might happen when the lawlessness of the Old West returns … but with better weapons,” says producer Mark Williams.  Oooh!  The old west with futurist weapons!  That does sound new!

  1. I saw J.H in London at a play “Rain Man” (character Charlie Babbitt) and was amazing, also he’s surprising in “Mozart and the Whale”(character with Asperger’s syndrome ) as manipulative boy in “O” and in movies as August and Lucky Number Slevin
